Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use TIN Registration Check. The short version: this site holds almost nothing about you, and the one thing people worry about — their NIC and TIN — never reaches us at all.
We never receive your NIC, TIN or OTP
The TIN check itself runs entirely on the Inland Revenue Department's e-services portal at eservices.ird.gov.lk. When you follow a link from this site, you leave this site, and everything you type there goes to the IRD under the IRD's own privacy practices. We do not see it, store it or pass it on. Never type your NIC number, TIN or a one-time password into any form on this website, and be suspicious of any site that asks you to.
What this site does collect
Like most websites, this site keeps basic technical logs of visits: the page requested, the time, your browser type and a truncated or anonymised network address. These logs are used to keep the site running, spot broken pages and understand which guides people actually read. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not sell visit data to anyone.
Comments and messages
If you post in the discussion area, the text you write and the name you choose to post under are stored so your message can be displayed. Do not post personal information there — no NIC numbers, no TINs, no phone numbers, no certificate images. Posts containing personal identifiers may be removed for your own protection.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed for it to function, such as remembering display preferences. We do not use advertising profiles built from your activity here.
External links
Our links lead mainly to official Sri Lankan government services, including ird.gov.lk and eservices.ird.gov.lk. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and once you leave this site their rules apply.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page. If you have a question about this policy or want a comment you posted removed, raise it through the discussion area on the contact page.
