TIN Registration Check _ Check TIN Number Online with NIC _ IRD Sri Lanka

Contact

Two different kinds of help live on this page, and picking the right one gets you an answer faster.

Questions about your own TIN

If your question is about your personal registration — a TIN that will not display, an OTP that goes to an old phone number, a wrong name on a certificate — only the Inland Revenue Department can fix it, because only the IRD holds your record. Contact them directly:

  • IRD call centre: 1944 — Monday to Friday 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
  • Official website: www.ird.gov.lk, with the e-services portal at eservices.ird.gov.lk.
  • In person: the IRD head office in Colombo or your nearest regional IRD office. Take your NIC with you.

Please do not send us your NIC number, TIN or OTP. We have no access to IRD records, we cannot look anything up for you, and no genuine service will ever ask for your OTP.

Questions about this website

If a step on this site does not match what the official portal shows, if a link lands in the wrong place, or if you found an error in our guides, we want to hear it. Use the discussion area on this site to post your message, tell us which page you were reading and what you saw, and we will review it and correct the page if the IRD process has changed.

We read every report, but please understand the limit of what we can do: we can fix our words, not your tax record. For anything inside your IRD file, the call centre on 1944 is the road that actually leads somewhere.

A quick note on response times

Messages about this website are reviewed in batches, so a reply can take a few days. If your bank visit or vehicle transfer is this week, do not wait on us — the IRD call centre answers the same day during its working hours, and the verification check itself takes about two minutes when your details are current.
